After many years of apparent planning the new A-Team motion picture has now taken it's biggest step yet of actually being created after the motion picture rights were snapped up by Fox 2000. Originally a release date of the Summer 2001 was mentioned, but you'll be lucky to see it before 2003/4 at the present rate. The original cast will not be appearing in the leading roles as hoped for by the many A-Team fans who remember how Mr. T., George Peppard, Dwight Schultz and Dirk Benedict brought the show to life.

Just recently when Dirk Benedict was interviewed he expressed fears about the movie. He believes it will turn out to be a flop. He does not know of anyone who could play the part of B.A. Baracus as well as Mr T. Himself or Dwight Schultz have not been contacted as yet to appear in the well publicized cameo role.

It has been rumoured that the old cast will be replaced by some of Hollywood's brightest stars as the following extract from the Daily Record (a tabloid newspaper in the UK) states:

"A-Team Returns

Eighties TV superheroes the A-Team are about to regroup - on the big screen.

Hollywood film makers plan to resurrect the popular television series for an action packed movie. But the original cast will not be brought out of retirement. Instead, the will be replaced by some of Hollywood's hottest young stars for their roles as the elite group of wronged commandos on a mission to help the helpless. The cult series will be given a face lift to make the soldiers of fortune seem more contemporary for the new millennium. The rights to the popular series, which starred Mr. T and George Peppard, were bought by Fox 2000."

All the fans of the original show hope that it will keep most of the magic that made the original show such a success.

Quote from the co-producer - Chris Carlisle - "We want to turn the incredible brand awareness of the A-Team into an up-to-date action comedy"
